On December 20, 2024, the winter sunshine was not as bright as spring, but with a unique tenderness, sprinkled on the Care Center for the Demented, where we were about to go. On this day, Suzhou University Business School MBA Federation Public Welfare Department called for volunteers, and with the fear and care for life, we embarked on a special public welfare activity journey, aiming to bring joy and warmth to a group of lovely people here, so that their winter is no longer lonely.

Although the cold winter wind was biting, the volunteers' hearts were as hot as the warm sun, and they all arrived at the site early, carefully arranging the site and preparing the gifts. We carefully selected a series of practical and emotionally valuable prizes, ranging from warm towels, toiletries, umbrellas, glass cups, canvas bags, small blind boxes that can stimulate memories, simple educational toys, and oranges sponsored by warm-hearted farmers, aiming to add a splash of color to their lives, and at the same time hoping to awaken their deepest memories and emotions through these items. Although these prizes are small, they carry our deepest blessings and respect.

After the scene was set up, a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere quickly filled in with the arrival of this lovely group of people. In the handicraft section, we arranged DIY mugwort whacking activity. Mugwort, which has been prized by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners since ancient times, has a unique aroma and efficacy, and has a positive effect on relieving anxiety and improving sleep. Volunteers prepared materials such as mugwort, fabrics and fillers and guided everyone to make mugwort whacks with their own hands. In the process of making, the volunteers patiently guided them, while everyone showed amazing creativity and patience. One by one, the mugwort whacks gradually took shape in their hands, not only exercising their hands-on ability, but also experiencing a sense of achievement and self-worth in the process.

Next, we had a game of spoons and ping pong balls. This game seems to be simple, but it actually tests the participants' concentration and coordination. After the volunteers carefully explained the flow of the game, everyone participated in the game enthusiastically, and finally successfully transported the ping-pong ball to the finish line with a spoon. During the game, laughter and cheers were heard one after another, and every successful transportation was accompanied by applause and encouragement, which not only enhanced their self-confidence, but also brought them closer to each other.

Last but not least is the Ducks vs. Ducks game for everyone. This game requires a team of two people to fan the ducks to each other's feet first, and the winner is the one who wins. For everyone, this was not only a physical challenge, but also a memory exercise. During the game, they were sometimes frowning, sometimes laughing, and every success seemed to be a small victory over past memories, making their faces full of satisfaction and joy.

With the successful conclusion of the activity, the volunteers deeply felt the innocence and happiness of these lovely people. Every subtle care and every patient companionship is the best support and encouragement to them, and also let the volunteers harvest full of touching and growth.

Every activity enables more volunteers to deepen their understanding of volunteering and complete a relay of social responsibility and love. This time, there were also volunteers who were unable to arrive at the scene in time due to long distance and took the initiative to contact the donated materials. In the future, we will continue to move forward, with more love and care, to illuminate their way forward, so that the world is warmer because of our existence. Because we believe that every life deserves to be honored and cared for, and no matter what situation they are in, they should enjoy the right to be surrounded by warmth.
